Hudson, MA – September 27, 2024 – Diversified Machining, Inc., a leading contract manufacturing firm specializing in CNC machining, announces the retirement of its esteemed founder, Chet MacDonald, and the addition of Robert Warner as Shop Foreman and Dan Winchester as New Product Development Manager. This leadership transition marks an exciting new chapter for the company as it continues to build on the solid foundation established over decades of dedication to quality and precision.

Chet MacDonald’s Legacy

Acknowledging the retirement of Chet MacDonald, Diversified Machining reflects on his remarkable journey as the founder of the company,DMI_Chet MacDonald which he established in 1992. With over three decades of machining experience, Chet’s passion for the craft was evident from his early days at King Instruments, where he honed his skills alongside his future business partner, Bob Mitchell. Their shared vision led them to take the leap into entrepreneurship, beginning their journey with their first customer—King Instruments.

Since those humble beginnings in Chet’s garage, Diversified Machining has flourished under his leadership. Chet’s dedication to delivering high-quality, swift results became the cornerstone of the company’s success. His exceptional ability to tackle challenges while maintaining a focus on custom solutions won him the respect of his peers and clients. Chet’s legacy extends beyond operations; he built a culture centered on hard work, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. Robert Warner, Shop Foreman

Joining Diversified Machining as Shop Foreman, Robert Warner brings over three decades of expertise in machining and electromechanicalRobert Warner_image solutions. A Class A machinist, Rob has honed his skills in various machining processes, including milling, lathing, and grinding, and has managed operations across multiple sectors such as aerospace, military, and automotive. His extensive experience, which includes critical projects like components for the Ford Godzilla engine and parts for unmanned military fighter jets, underscores his dedication to precision and quality.

Rob’s leadership is fueled by his philosophy that efficient and quality-driven machining brings success to the business and positively impacts people’s lives. In his current role, Rob manages operations while fostering a collaborative environment that empowers team members to thrive. His commitment to continuous improvement, passion for problem-solving, and proactive approach to embracing technological advancements make him an invaluable asset to Diversified Machining.

Dan Winchester, New Product Development Manager

Dan Winchester joins Diversified Machining as New Product Development Manager, bringing a versatile background in mechanics, design, andDan Winchester_3 project management. Dan’s journey began with his tenure at Xerox, where he gained hands-on experience in high-volume copier maintenance and repair. He later transitioned into the trade show exhibits industry, mastering AutoCAD and 3D modeling, which laid the groundwork for his decade-long career in technical drawing and manufacturing.

Dan’s innovative mindset and dedication to efficiency have quickly made him a key player at Diversified. Working closely with Rob, he leverages his expertise in SolidWorks to improve shop efficiency, optimize workflows, and enhance quoting processes. His commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement fosters a positive environment, ensuring that every team member contributes to the collective success of the company and its customers.

Looking Ahead

Diversified’s General Manager, Brian Holman says, “The addition of Rob and Dan signals an exciting new phase for Diversified Machining as we continue to expand our capabilities and drive forward with renewed energy. We all work well together—as though we’ve been at this for decades as a team already. Phil Holman, who now owns Diversified Machining, worked with MacDonald for decades when he owned Fourstar Connection and had a fruitful relationship with Diversified as a vendor. He says of MacDonald’s retirement, “He has certainly earned his day in the sun. He built a solid business on integrity, skill, talent, and quality. We’re as lucky for the opportunity to continue his work as we are to welcome Rob and Dan to the team. Their combined expertise in machining, operations management, and new product development will support the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, quick-turn production and exceptional customer service.
